Its broad structure and harmony of unusual aromas distinguishes it as a truly noble wine exempt from imitation. Barolo Near the town of Alba, in the Piedmont grows the Nebbiolo grape, a noble grape. From this grape is produced the prestigious Barolo wines. It has been called the "king of wine" and the "wine of kings." It is considered one of the world´s best red wines. Barbaresco Barbaresco is a red wine and in a way the younger brother of Barolo. Both of these red wines are made in the Piedmont area of Italy, and made from the Nebbiolo grape. While Barolo wines are rich and thick, Barbaresco wines are more elegant and aromatic, though still powerful. Amarone Amarone is made from blends of the Covina Veronese, the Rondolina and the Molinara grapes that are dried on racks to intensify their flavor Concentrating the grapes in this way gives Amarone a very distinctive rich fruity flavor. Shiraz Shiraz is a full bodied wine, rich, dark, full bodied, heavy in tannin and peppery, with a lush texture and ripe fruit flavors, it is delicious with lamb or beef complimenting their somewhat heavier flavors. Pinot Noir Pinot Noir is a lighter colored and flavored red wine, well-suited to pair with poultry or lamb. Its flavors are reminiscent of sweet red berries, plums, tomatoes, cherries and at times a notable earthy or wood-like flavor. |
